WORKERS' COMPENSATION UNIVERSITY - UPDATE 2008

This August, the Workers' Compensation Program is coming to you!
August 12        Virginia Beach Higher Education Center
August 14        Staunton – Frontier Culture Museum
August 26        Abingdon – Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center
August 28        Richmond – Science Museum

Each session will run from 9:00 to 1:00 with registration and continental breakfast from 8:30 to 9:00.  If you find that you are unable to attend one of these sessions, please reply to this email and we will notify you if interest is sufficient to schedule additional sessions/locations.

These informative regional programs are designed to provide agency workers’ compensation representatives with an overview of new Workers’ Compensation Program service features and provide a better understanding of:

  • Electronic filing of workers’ compensation claims
  • New OccuNet PPO network
  • Resources for Panel Development
  • Pharmacy access and communication
  • Navigating the Knowledge Center
  • New reporting technology
  • Reorganization of MCI Team Claim Units
  • Resources on www.COVWC.com
  • Customer service initiatives

All training-related activities (enrollment, cancellations, etc.) for DHRM courses are processed through the Commonwealth of Virginia Knowledge Center (CoVKC) web portal.  Search for OWC’s classes by keyword “wc”.  Workers’ Compensation – Update 2008 should display last in the list.

If you are a first-time user or have not already registered, we encourage you to do so since you must register in order to use the Knowledge Center. (Please see instructions here). If you are a registered user in the CoVKC, go directly to the CoVKC portal or you may log in to the KC through your agency's portal, if appropriate.  Please note that if your agency has its own KC portal, your agency’s administrator must first “pull in” this course for you to be able to register.  The course was announced to administrators on Monday, July 28.
